The chief meteorologist of the local network WTVA, shortly before the arrival of the hurricane, informed the viewers about what to expect, while it seems that even he could not contain his surprise at its power
The powerful hurricane that hit Mississippi left behind at least 23 dead. At the same time, the reaction of a meteorologist in Mississippi, who is scared on air by seeing how powerful it is and the amount of depravity it can cause, is doing the rounds of the internet, so he starts praying on air for the residents of the city.
In particular, Matt Mathban, chief meteorologist of the local network WTVA, shortly before the arrival of the hurricane informed the viewers about what to expect. “Let’s say we’re going 65 miles an hour, I’d say the west streets of Amory City are less than two minutes away. “This is a strong, life-threatening tornado that will move either extremely close to Emory or through the northern part of the city.”
At this point, the weatherman suddenly appeared anxious and emotionally charged, and soon after revealed a new forecast that placed the city even further into the fire zone. As he said: “We have a new scan coming in as we speak. Oh man, it’s coming to the north side of Emory. Oh my Christ, please help them, amen.”
WTVA meteorologist Matt Laubhan was overwhelmed as a major tornado hits Amory, Mississippi.

The powerful tornado tore down homes, downed trees and downed power lines in the area.
Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves tweeted: “Many in the Mississippi Delta need our prayers and God’s protection tonight. We have activated medical support – promoting more ambulances and other emergency means for those affected. Watch weather reports and stay alert overnight, Mississippi.”
