The American actress was found innocent of all charges Gwyneth Paltrow for the skiing accident involving a 76-year-old man. Retired optician Terry Sanderson was “100%” to blame for the accident, according to jurors.

She was awarded symbolic damages of $1, an amount she sought to demonstrate that it was a matter of money and gave her the vindication she sought when she chose to go to trial instead of settling out of court.

As Paltrow walked out of the Utah courtroom victorious, and $1 richer, she tapped Sanderson on the shoulder and reportedly whispered: “get well soon”, according to New York Post video. He appeared to answer blankly “thank you my dear”.

The 50-year-old Hollywood star has been sued on charges of negligence and abandonment in connection with an accident she allegedly caused 76-year-old Terry Sanderson while skiing in 2016 at the luxury Utah ski resort.

Sanderson sued Paltrow in 2019 for $3.1 million, claiming the accident at the Deer Valley ski resort left him with brain damage and damaged his social life. After a judge threw out his original lawsuit, Sanderson refiled for $300,000. Paltrow sued for just $1 — plus possible six-figure attorneys’ fees — which jurors awarded her, agreeing that the accident the pensioner was in charge.
