The case of the supply of American F-35s has been finally closed for Turkey, with Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan promising the people a national fighter jet by 2023.

Had the agreement with the US not been broken due to the Russian S-400s, the first F-35s would have arrived in Ankara in 2021 and by 2029 would have received 100 American fighters.

“In 2023 we will take our national fighter aircraft out of the hangar and show it to the world. “We will not delay his first flight much and this step is moving fast. His first flight is planned to take place in 2025”, stressed the Turkish president.

What he said about the arms embargo

The serious problem of Turkey in the supply of weapons systems is reflected in the statements of President Tayyip Erdogan on the imposition of an arms embargo on the country. However, he tried to reassure the Turkish people that the country was building many of its own weapons systems.

“We asked for unmanned aircraft, but they did not give it. We also built our own such as Anka, Bayraktar, Akinci and Aksungur “,” we asked for anti-aircraft systems but they did not give them to us. “We first bought from another country and for the time being we built the Hisar systems, soon we will have the Siper and later we will make a more advanced system”, stressed the Turkish president.
