Following the call for proposals launched last year as part of the European Year of Youth, 75 young people’s projects were selected to be funded through the #EUTeens4Green initiative, with a total of more than €723,000, i.e. around €10,000 for each project. Among them, 13 projects that have been proposed by organizations and youth groups from various regions of Greece.
Through these projects, young people between the ages of 15 and 24 living in 44 regions benefiting from the Just Transition Fund in 21 Member States will have the opportunity to raise public awareness of the green transition. Each project will be implemented by groups of individuals or youth organizations by spring 2024. The initiative will support a wide range of actions, from educational workshops and field visits to areas in transition, to green activities such as gardening, farming and developing circular solutions. economy for food, waste and energy, while it will also include competitions and games on ecological issues.
The aim of the initiative is to empower young people and strengthen their participation in the decision-making process for an inclusive green transition.
