Videos and photos that have emerged show protesters entering the Le Centorial office building, located near the Opéra Garnier, holding red flares and shooting smoke bombs. About 100 people, including representatives of several labor unions, were on the ground floor of the building for about 10 minutes, shouting anti-reform slogans. BlackRock’s office is on the third floor.

“The meaning of this action is very simple. We went to the headquarters of BlackRock to tell them: the workers’ money, for our pensions, is being taken.” Jerome Schmitt, a spokesman for the French union SUD, told CNN’s BFM-TV.
Nationwide protests against the French government’s plan to raise the retirement age continue for an 11th day. At least 80 people were arrested and 123 police officers were injured during protests on March 23, in which protesters set fires, threw smoke bombs and destroyed property. At the same time, the French president, Emmanuel Macron, is making an official visit to Beijing.
