Two people are ignored today in Israel due to flooding caused by heavy rains in the southern part of the country, as reported by the police.

Rescue services carried out several operations overnight last night to help people who were on holiday when torrential rains began as the country is in festive season, with the Jewish and Christian Easters coinciding with Ramadan this year.

Sixty people“some of whom were swept away by the waters while inside their car,” were rescued and two are still missing near Highway 40 in the Negev desert, police said in a statement.

As of yesterday, Monday night, “heavy rains and strong winds caused river flooding near highways 90 and 40,” the two most important in the country, police continue.

Near the coastal city of Eilat, many roads have been blocked and police have asked the population to stay away from flooded areas.
