Elon Musk’s satellite internet company, Starlink, is starting to face unforeseen problems. This is because some of its satellite dishes are starting to attract cats.
To send signals from its satellites around the world, Starlink needs to install satellite dishes. These dishes can be placed on the roof of a building or on an external wall, but many place them at ground level.
As the dishes emit heat, the bad weather affecting parts of the US these days has brought an unexpected problem to the surface. In particular, Starlink satellite dishes are beginning to attract cats, who are looking for a warm place to protect themselves from snow and cold.

“The Starlink service works fine until the cats find out that the dish emits some heat on cold days,” one user wrote on Twitter.
And as it turns out, cats are not the only animals looking for warmth in Elon Musk’s satellite dishes. Another user had the same problem with the birds.

Although it has not been made clear whether the animals block the signal, damage to the equipment is not ruled out.
What Starlink might be doing is advising its customers to place their dishes in places where cats cannot reach.
