Seven Palestinians were injured today, Tuesday by the fire of Israeli soldiers in the northern West Bank, as announced by the Ministry of Health of the Palestinian Authority, while the Israeli army, for its part, reported that it is conducting an operation in this zone.

Six people with minor injuries from live bullets were admitted to a public hospital in Jenin, while a seventh was taken to a hospital in a neighboring city, after the Israeli raid in the area, the ministry said.

In its terse statement earlier, the Israeli military said it had launched an operation in the Jenin refugee camp, without elaborating further.

Jenin and the Palestinian refugee camp they are considered a stronghold of Palestinian armed organizations. The zone is frequently targeted by Israeli military raids labeled “anti-terrorist operations” by Israel, which accuses the Palestinian Authority of doing nothing to curb these organizations. Since the beginning of the year, 25 Palestinians have been killed in Jenin. Israeli operations often lead to army clashes with youths throwing stones at soldiers or members of armed organizations.
