Last night the Bundeswehr said on Twitter that two more aircraft were to take part in the operation to quickly remove Germans from Sudan.
They were on the German Foreign Ministry’s list of persons to be removed over 300 German nationals. The aim was to also transfer out of the country nationals of Germany’s partner states, if possible.
The mission, involving more than 1,000 members of the German armed forces, took days to prepare. The first flight was due to take place on Wednesday, but was canceled due to conditions in Sudan.

At the same time, the first eight Greek citizens, including the two injured, were freed yesterday from Sudan with the help of the French army. Today it became known that an additional 10 Greeks and their family members were freed from Sudan, who are already in Djibouti, this time with the help of Italy. Everyone is in good health.
In total, the number of Greeks planned to be removed from war-torn Sudan is rising reportedly in 100together with their families.
Since April 15, the two generals in power in Sudan after the 2021 coup have been mercilessly fighting for power.
According to figures from the World Health Organization (WHO), hostilities in the country have killed at least 420 people and injured at least another 3,700.
