The terror was experienced by passengers on her flight American Airlines, when they found that one of the engines of their plane had caught fire, as birds got into the engine.

The incident occurred Sunday morning on a flight from John Glenn Airport in Columbus, Ohio to Phoenix, Arizona when a fire broke out on a Boeing 737 aircraft. Reports so far indicate that geese entered the turbine shortly after takeoff, causing fire.

The plane returned safely to Columbus International Airport.

It is unclear how many passengers and crew members were on board. American Airlines said the plane was grounded for maintenance and passengers would be transferred to other aircraft.
