The derisive reaction of the head of the Wagner paramilitary group Yevgeny Prigozhin was prompted by a question from a Russian channel about whether the service of Dmitry Peskov’s son Nikolai in the mercenaries will harm Peskov himself because it is not a “standard solution”.

Prigozhin replied that the Kremlin representative… “must be fired” from his position.

“Of course, for such an unpleasant act as his son’s service at Wagner PMC, (Kremlin spokesman) Dmitry Sergeevich (Peskov) should be urgently dismissed from his position, because at least he violated the corporate ethics of the deep state,” he said. the “boss” of the organization in a Telegram message.

Prigozhin pointedly added that the children of members of the Russian political elite “should study at Harvard, Oxford and hold positions of directors of state-owned enterprises, banks, or, at worst, be commanders or deputy commanders.”

“Therefore, Dmitri Sergeyevich acted very badly giving Nikolai his consent to serve in the Wagner PMC,” he said.

Prigozhin’s comments came a day after Dmitry Peskov’s son Nikolai Peskov gave an interview to Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper in which he said he had joined Wagner to take part in what Russia calls the country’s “special military operation” in Ukraine with his initiative, but he asked his father about how to do it.

“When I decided on my own to join the NWO (‘special military operation’)I didn’t know how to get there. Because when it all started, there wasn’t as much information as there is now. So, yes, I had to go to my father. I asked how I can properly contact PMC (Wagner). And he helped me in this” commented Nikolai Peskov.

Son Peskov, 33, also noted that he considers it “his duty” to join Russia’s war in Ukraine, adding that he “couldn’t sit on the sidelines and watch friends and other people” go to the front lines.
