Prince William and Rupert Murdoch’s News Group Newspapers have reached an out-of-court settlement of a “very large sum” in relation to the company’s newspaper wiretapping case.

The revelation is contained in documents filed in a London court on Tuesday by lawyers for Prince Harry, who, like his brother, is among the celebrities who have filed a lawsuit in the case.

The lawsuit concerns illegal surveillance by the Sun and News of the World newspapers.

The opposing sides will present their arguments in court for three days, and the judge will then be called upon to decide whether the lawsuit should go to trial, likely next January.

In a written statement to the court, Prince Harry said the monitoring of his phone messages “affected every aspect” of his life, creating “huge paranoia” and a loss of trust in his relationships.

Prince Harry also has ongoing court battles over the monitoring of his conversations against the groups that publish the Mail and Mirror newspapers.
