Prigozhin: “As a man of radical thinking, I can say that, of course, the use of nuclear weapons in response to drones is excluded”
The head of the Wagner paramilitary group fired his “arrows” at Moscow on Thursday through his Telegram channel Yevgeny Prigozhin.
“We look like clowns when we threaten to ‘nuclear bomb’ a child drone” he mocked about the Kremlin attack with two drones.
“As a man of radical thinking, I can say that, of course, the use of nuclear weapons in response to drones is out of the question,” he pointedly clarified about Russian retaliation in Kiev for the attack. The Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky, however, denied that Kiev was behind the incident.
Leaving tips for the Russian Ministry of Defense, Wagner’s “boss” commented that “it is necessary, first of all, that the person responsible for dealing with drones understands how could this happenin principle, and then make every effort to become a leading force in the field of UAV technology development and respond precisely with drones of our own.”
As he stated on Wednesday Deputy Minister of Defense Alexander Fomin during a briefing for military attachés, the Russian approach for nuclear deterrence it is defensive in nature.
“Based on doctrinal documents, Russian approaches to nuclear deterrence were discussed. It was noted that the activities of the Russian Federation in the field of nuclear deterrence are of a defensive nature and are aimed at the guaranteed protection of the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” Fomin said.
