New bloodshed, with eight dead in two Serbian villages about 46 kilometers south of Belgrade, unfolded on Thursday night.

According to press reports, a 21-year-old man spread death in the villages of Dubona and Shepsin, shooting indiscriminately from his car with an automatic weapon.

The Nova S television network reports that so far eight people have been confirmed dead and fifteen others injured.

Fears are expressed that the death toll will become even heavier.

Strong police forces cordoned off the area in search of the perpetrator.

Information indicates that he was located and surrounded by the police near the town of Mali Pozarevac. But he refuses to surrender and exchanges fire with the police.
