Yevgeny Prigozhin, head of the Russian mercenary organization Wagner, said in a statement today that his forces will withdraw from Bakhmut on May 10 due to a lack of ammunition and hand over their positions to the forces of the regular Russian armed forces.

“I declare on behalf of the Wagner fighters, on behalf of the Wagner administration, on May 10, 2023 we are obliged to surrender positions in the settlement of Bahamut to units of the Ministry of Defense and withdraw what is left of Wagner to logistics camps to close our wounds I am withdrawing the Wagner units from Bahamut as due to the lack of ammunition they are doomed to perish needlessly.”

He curses Shoigu and Fkerasimov for lack of ammunition

Last night, Prigozhin lashed out at both Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces General Valery Gerasimov, while showing dead mercenaries on video, claiming it was due to a lack of ammunition.

In it he states:

“Now listen to me, c@@@ who@@@@! These are the fathers and sons of some! And those who@@@ who don’t give us ammunition, will eat their food in hell! We are 70% short on ammunition…Shoigu, Gerasimov, where is the damn ammunition? Check them out!

You bastards, who sit in expensive clubs, who think you and your children are the masters and have the right to control their lives [εννοεί τους μισθοφόρους της Wagner], if you think you command because you have ammo reserves, the calculations are simple, we get 5 times less ammo! They came as volunteers and give their life so that you can spare it! So think about these things.”

In a more recent statement he said:
