Almost 210 seats in its municipal and regional councils England he was losing control Conservative Party in the United Kingdom with the counting of local election votes in England until 1pm.

Elections were held on Thursday in 230 of England’s 317 city and district councils to elect their new members.

The winners appear to be the Labor Party, which secured around 730 councilor seats until the same time, strengthened by 117 seats and the Liberal Democrats with 355 seats, around 60 more than in the previous elections.

The Tories are also losing control of eleven councils. The party’s traditional stronghold of council in Windsor and Maidenhead has come under Lib Dem control

According to an analysis of the results and a national breakdown presented by Sky News, the main opposition Labor would win the general election with 36-38%, the Conservatives would slip to 28-30% and the Lib Dems would reach 16- 19%.

Prime Minister and Conservative Party leader Rishi Sunak said it was “disappointing” to lose councilors, but noted he did not see any radical voter shift to Labour.

Labor leader Sir Keir Starmer has said his party is on course to win the national election.

National elections are still more than a year and a half away in the UK.
