Well-known American anchor Tucker Carlson, after leaving Fox News last month, announced on Tuesday that he will “soon” host his show via Twitter.

The conservative Fox News network and Carlson agreed to part ways in April, shortly after the Fox Corp reached a settlement with electronic vote counting machine company Dominion.

Dominion had gone to court seeking $1.6 billion in damages from Fox News over its claims that the 2020 presidential election was rigged to hurt former US President Donald Trump. Ultimately Fox News agreed to pay her $787.5 million.

Carlson had a central role in this case. Although Fox News did not disclose the reason for the anchor’s departure, it appears that the main reason was the revelation of a series of his messages. In them, Carlson indicated that he has doubts about the allegations of election fraud, although he has vigorously defended them on his broadcasts.

Tucker Carlson Tonight’s show averaged 3.3 million viewers in 2022, making it the most popular evening show on American cable television.

The presenter was known for his extreme positions and tendency to promote conspiracy theories.

“Soon we’ll be bringing you a new version of the show we’ve been doing for the last six and a half years on Twitter,” Carlson said in a video posted to the social media site. “We will offer you other things, which we will talk to you about. But for now we’re just grateful to be here.”

“There aren’t many platforms that allow freedom of expression,” Carlson said in the video. “The last one in the world and the only one is Twitter.”

In the video posted yesterday, the 53-year-old Carlson accused the entire mass media of misleading public opinion and behaving “like propaganda organizations”.

“We have not signed any kind of agreement,” Elon Musk emphasized yesterday. “Tucker is subject to the same rules and rewards as everyone else who creates content,” on Twitter.
