The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Boris Johnson admitted for the first time that he attended a party held on Downing Street amid a lockdown on May 20, 2020.

He began his appearance at today’s meeting of the House of Commons apologizing for the fact. He said he was aware of the “sacrifices and anguish” made by the people, but also of the “anger” they felt at him and his government because they felt the rules had been broken on Downing Street by those who made the rules.

“I know there were things we just did not do right and I have to take responsibilitySaid the British Prime Minister, saying that he went to the garden on Downing Street around 6 pm on May 20 to thank the staff for their hard work and returned to his office 25 minutes later.

As he said, he considered that it was a professional event, despite the fact that the invitation from his special secretary referred to a social event with drinks.

He admitted that he later realized that he should have asked everyone to leave the garden. Although, as he noted, the event was “technically within the rules”, millions of citizens disagree.

He concluded his statement by repeating his “heartfelt apologies” to the people and asking for permission to complete the investigation that has been ordered into the events of that day and other allegations of partisanship.

In response, the leader of the opposition Labor Party, Sir Kir Starmer he said that “after months of deception and deception”, a “deplorable Prime Minister” was forced to reveal himself.

“His excuse that he did not realize he was at a party is so ridiculous that it is offensive to the British public.”, said Mr. Starmer, calling on Boris Johnson “to do the decent thing and resign.”
