The LGBTI flag was raised by the Prime Minister of Belgium, Alexandre de Croix, thus honoring the International Day against Homophobia and Transphobia.

The European Council also sent a message on the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia stating that “the European Union emphasizes the right of all individuals to be free to be what they want and to love whom they want without fear”.
“Only in this way can we build a true union of equality” concludes the message of the European Council.
