The Nepalese Sherpa Kami Rita today set a new record for climbing to its peak Everestas he reached the top of the world for the 27th time.

“Kami Rita esuccessfully reached the summit this morning as the guide of a Vietnamese mountaineer,” said Mingma, Sherpa and organizer of the Seven Summit Treks agency.
The 53-year-old Nepalese Sherpa works as amountain guide in the Himalayas for more than 20 years.
For the first time he arrived summit in 1994 and has climbed Everest almost every year since then – except for 2014, 2015 and 2020 when climbing the mountain was banned for various reasons.

Kami Rita Sherpa held the record after his 22nd ascent in 2018, breaking a previous record shared by two other Sherpas.
