The governor of Florida Ron DeSandis will announce that he will run for the Republican nomination in the 2024 election in a debate he will have tomorrow Wednesday with the owner of Twitter Elon Musktwo sources with knowledge of his plans told Reuters.

DeSandis is considered the former president’s most important opponent Donald Trump for the anointing. His announcement is expected to shake up an election campaign that has so far been almost one-sided.

Musk reproduced a post by a Fox News reporter stating that the announcement would be made at 18:00 on Wednesday (local time, 01:00 Thursday Greek time) in an interview on Twitter Space.

Fox News reported that DeSandis will file his candidacy with the Federal Election Commission at the same time.

In the meantime, Mr Tim Scottthe only one African American Republican Senatorearlier today officially submitted his candidacy claiming his party’s nomination to be a candidate for the 2024 presidential election.

Scott, the penniless child of a single-parent family from South Carolina, often presents his personal story as proof that America remains the land of opportunity. He filed his declaration of candidacy with the Federal Election Commission today.
