The “carbohydrate marmot” or the absolute fantasy of the foodie has been living for about a decade now a man in Belgium, who every day receives dozens of deliveries of pizza, burgers and other fattening dishes.

As the man from Antwerp claims, for the last ten years, food has been delivered to his house that he has never ordered, and as a result he has reached a state of despair.

Van Landeghem tells Het Laatste Nieuws that it all started nine years ago.

“Suddenly, a pizza delivery guy delivered me a whole load of pizzas. But I hadn’t ordered anything,” he explained.

At first he thought it was an error in the delivery address, however the orders continued and continue daily.

“It can be weekdays or weekends and any time of the day. Orders come from distribution services in Turnhout, but also from the surrounding area. I’ve had orders delivered even at 2am,” said Van Landeghem.

“I can’t sleep anymore. I start shaking every time I hear a motorcycle on the road. I’m afraid someone will come and leave hot pizzas once again,” he says.

In fact, as he said, in January 2019, ten different distributors appeared at the same time, with one of them wanting to deliver 14 pizzas.

“I’ve always refused deliveries, so I’ve never paid for anything,” he said, explaining that it’s not just an inconvenience for him, but also for the restaurants.

“It costs them money and they have to throw away the food. The day ten deliveries showed up, I did the math: it cost 450 euros,” he said.

He claimed that he has reported the incident to the police several times, while he still does not know who it is that thinks it is funny to harass him in this way.

“I can’t take it anymore. When I find out who’s been bothering me for the last nine years, it won’t be his best day,” he concluded.
