At least two people died and 23 were injured after an attack that took place in a hospital in the city of Dnipro of central Ukraine today, Friday.

A 69-year-old man was tragically killed “just passing by where the rocket hit the city” and the body of another man “was pulled from the rubble,” said Serhii Lysak, head of the regional military command.

He added that 23 people were injured in the shelling, with 21 of them in hospital and three in critical condition.

At least four people are missing after the attack in Dnipro, according to the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.

The fire covered 1,000 square meters of the medical facility, where a three-story building was partially destroyed, Lysak added.

He added that rescue teams are searching for people under the rubble.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky described the attack as a crime against humanity. In his post on twitter he says:

“Another one [ρωσική] missile attack, another crime against humanity itself. The buildings of a psychological clinic and a veterinary clinic in the city of Dnipro were destroyed. Only an evil state can fight the clinics. There can be no military purpose in it. He is clean [ρωσικός] trembling”.

Overnight, Ukraine shot down 10 missiles and more than 20 drones launched by Russian forces in attacks on the capital Kyiv, the city of Dnipro, Kharkiv and other eastern regions.

Russia’s defense ministry said it carried out an overnight attack on Ukrainian military ammunition depots, stressing that “all designated facilities were hit,” according to state news agency RIA.
