THE Elon Musk taunts the European Union with a… toilet and insults, with a post on Twitter.
Twitter ditched the EU’s anti-disinformation code, prompting a flurry of warnings from European officials, something Musk didn’t like…
“You can run, but you can’t hide. In addition to voluntary commitments, fighting disinformation will be a legal obligation under the DSA (Digital Services Act) from 25 August,” European Commissioner for the Internal Market Thierry Breton said indicatively on Friday announcing the decision of the social platform (i.e. Musk). “Our teams will be ready to enforce the law,” warned.
Twitter leaves EU voluntary Code of Practice against disinformation.
But obligations remain. You can run but you can’t hide.
Beyond voluntary commitments, fighting disinformation will be under legal obligation #DSA as of August 25.
Our teams will be ready for enforcement.

Twitter’s departure comes as no surprise to Thierry Breton’s services. Since buying the social network six months ago, billionaire Elon Musk has loosened restrictions on problematic content and appears to have bolstered voices notorious for spreading misinformation on the platform.
“If (Elon Musk) isn’t serious about the code, he might be better off leaving it,” a European Commission official commented on Friday. Europeans are calling for transparency in Twitter’s practices so that there is mutual trust in dealing with disinformation.
The “boss” of Twitter responded to the European Union with the photo of a … toilet which is completely transparent. “Transparency builds trust… We see clearly the sc@@@ now 100%” he commented sarcastically, in no mood to compromise.
