“We will have close contacts with Ankara, with President ErdoÄŸan, to help speed up this process as much as possible,” the NATO secretary general told reporters.

“I have been of the view since last autumn that Sweden should have already joined by ratification and I continue to hold that view. But, when 31 countries have to agree, that obviously takes a bit more time than I’d like and that’s what we’re dealing with,” he added.
If the representative of Turkish diplomacy will not be present at this week’s informal preparatory meeting, he will undoubtedly be present during the Vilnius summit on July 11 and 12.
