Videos of tourists trying to pet bison and take selfies with them in a US national park have taken the internet by storm, with a number of users expressing their displeasure at seeing what they describe as ‘fools’.

In a video posted to TouronsOfYellowstone on May 22 and credited to Russ Bjorn’s Instagram account, a woman can be seen reaching out in an attempt to touch the bison while a friend takes pictures.

However, the wild animal, which appears to be eating at the time, immediately reacts and attacks the woman, causing her to fall to the ground in terror and then run away.

In the background, the terrified screams of her group can be heard

The video was shot in Yellowstone National Park — an American national park located in the western United States

Meanwhile, another video of a woman inches away from a bison resting at Biscuit Basin in the national park has also gone viral.

He is seen attempting a selfie with the large animal as he sits down on the grass to eat.

“He was trying to pet it. It was crazy, didn’t hesitate to stand by him,” TouronsOfYellowston wrote in the clip posted to Helloquan’s account.

“Her arrogance was so infuriating. People were telling her to move away and she kept posing for about 10 minutes.”

She luckily managed to escape unscathed from her recklessness as the wild beast didn’t react — however, the tourists’ “unsavory” actions have been slammed, with many expressing outrage.

“People should be arrested for this, their ignorance is the reason they keep getting hurt,” one pointedly commented.
