London – Thanasis Gavos

Ammunition sale contract from Iran at Russia Sky News reported today.

Although the British network notes that it has not been able to verify the authenticity of the contract, the security source who provided it assured that the relevant services consider it “100% genuine”.

The 16-page contract, dated September 14, 2022, contains a list of ammunition samples for sale in Moscow. They are of various sizes artillery shells and tanks and for rockets. The total value of these amounts to 1 million dollars.

The contract is believed to be for samples prior to the sale of larger batches of ammunition.

Its source Sky News also reveals a five-page linked contract for the sale of T-72 tank barrels and howitzer guns, as well as ammunition casings. This deal is worth $740,000.

The Russian and Iranian embassies in the UK declined to comment on the revelation.

Sky News showed the documents up close to Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Smikhal when he visited London last month, as well as to British Foreign Secretary James Cleverley. The two governments said they planned to investigate the authenticity of the contracts and react accordingly if confirmed.

Ukraine’s ambassador to the UK, Vadim Prystaiko, said his country’s government “suspected” something like this was going on behind the scenes.

Mr Cleverley pointed out that London has already sanctioned Tehran for supplying attack drones to Moscow, which have been used in attacks on Ukrainian cities.
