The cyber gang with name Clop made up of Russian-speaking hackers sent an ultimatum to start negotiations to the British companies from which he has stolen the personal data of employees.

In a post on its dark web page, the Clop gang is calling on British Airways (BA), the BBC and cosmetics and retail chain Boots to email it by June 14 so that ransom negotiations can begin.

Otherwise, it is threatening to release the personal information of the tens of thousands of employees it stole in last week’s cyber attack.

The personal data compromised include names, addresses, social security numbers, bank account details and other information.

The cyber attack exploited vulnerabilities in Progress Software’s MOVEit data transfer software used by Zellis, which has taken over the payroll systems of BA, the BBC and Boots, as well as many other businesses in the UK and elsewhere.
