Pristina rejects Belgrade’s claims that the Kosovar police officers arrested by Serbian police entered Serbian territory.

Prime Minister Albin Kurti claims that Serbian army commandos “invaded” Kosovo and kidnapped police officers on duty 300 meters from the border.

Kurti characterizes the “kidnapping” of the policemen as an “aggressive act” against his country and requests the intervention of the international actor to immediately release them.

The government of Kosovo, reacting to the arrest of the policemen, decided to ban the import of Serbian products, while the Ministry of Foreign Affairs advised citizens not to travel abroad through Serbia.

It is noted that the Ministry of the Interior of Serbia announced the arrest of three Kosovo police officers who “fully armed” crossed the administrative border and entered central Serbia.

A video of the arrest of the Kosovar policemen was also released.

Serbian authorities speculate that those arrested intended to carry out terrorist acts.

This incident happened a day after the arrest of a Serb in the northern city of Mitrovica and is heightening the tension between Serbia and Kosovo.
