Creepy descriptions: “Mini is 8 months old and has managed to survive twice. I hit her head against the wall, her mouth is full of blood but she’s alive.. she’s so cool!”
After almost a year “secret” reportage, the BBC revealed the gruesome action of an international circuit of “people” – with many quotation marks the word – which tortured baby macaque monkeys to death, on live broadcast.
Animal Welfare World found hundreds of “clients” of the ring in the US, UK and elsewhere who paid Indonesians to torture and kill baby long-tailed macaques while filming their inhumane acts.
The ring of sadists initially broadcast the videos on YouTubebefore moving to private groups on the encrypted messaging app Telegram.
The police are now chasing the buyers and several arrests have already been made.
Infuriating and stomach-churning descriptions
In a video taken secretly by BBC reporteran Indonesian – Ajis Rasajana – laughs as he describes how he tortures the little monkeys, in front of a cage with two baby macaques.
“Mini is one year old. I have had her for 7 days and she has managed to survive twice. I hit her head against the wall, her mouth is full of blood but she’s alive.. she’s so cool!” says.

Mike McCartney, a major video distributor in the US, known by his nickname, “The Torture King“, agreed to speak to the BBC – and described the moment he joined his first torture monkey group on Telegram.
“They did a poll asking: Do you want to torture me hammer; You want me pliers; You want with one screwdriver; The resulting video was the most grotesque thing I’ve ever seen,” McCartney said.
The BBC also identified two other prime suspects now being investigated by the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS): 40-year-old Stacey Storey, from Alabama who was known to the community as “Sadist” and a ring leader known as “Mr. Monkey” (Mr Ape) and whose real name is withheld for security reasons.
“Mr Ape” confessed in an interview with the BBC that he was responsible for the death of at least four monkeys and the torture of many more.
He had filmed “extremely brutal” videos and remembers the face of every baby macaque he torturedas he said.
Sadistic videos of monkey torture are still easily accessible on Telegram and Facebook – the BBC recently found dozens of groups sharing extreme content, some with more than 1,000 members…
