Time and hope are running out to find the submarine and its 5 passengers
More ships and aircraft are being sent to the search zone for the missing Titan submarine, which disappeared with 5 people on board on Sunday as it began to dive into the area of the Titanic wreck.
In the latest development, a Canadian warship equipped with a six-person hyperbaric recompression chamber and a team specializing in diving medicine is expected to arrive in the area soon, after noises detected underwater Canadian planes.
But what are these sounds?
According to the BBC, deep-sea experts say it is difficult to determine what these noises might be and their source.
The audio signals picked up by Canadian planes’ radars and sonar could have come from sharp, loud bangs of a metal object on the steel hull 12.7 cm thick of the sunken submarine.
These knocks could produce these high frequency sounds.
But it must be established that frequency them but definitely to exclude the sounds of the seain order to consider signs of life and revive hopes.
According to the magazine Rolling Stone, a Canadian plane P-8, participating in investigations, “heard knocking noises in that area every 30 minutes. “Four hours later an additional sonar sounding system was deployed and the hits were still being heard.”
In addition to these knocking noises, “additional acoustic signals were received and will help orient the surface media, while at the same time, the hopes of finding survivors are maintained,” CNN reported, citing an internal US government document.
