The previous announcement of the Titan submarine company Ocean Gate that all five passengers of the submarine were lost in the Atlantic, the US Coast Guard confirmed.

The update was made by the head of the search operation of the US Coast Guard for the submarine Vice Admiral John Mauger, speaking of “catastrophic internal collapse” of the boat.

The vice admiral made this report after being asked about the prospects of recovering the bodies of the Titan crew.

“It’s an incredibly unforgiving environment down there, and the debris is consistent with a catastrophic collapse of the vessel,” he said, implying that the passengers will likely never be found. He clarified, however, that the sonars did not record a sound trace of the catastrophic collapse which is believed to have killed the submarine’s passengers.

“We will continue to work and survey the area there, but I don’t have an answer on prospects at this time,” he added.

As he explained, the robotic vessel from the ship Horizon Arctic discovered the tail cone of the submarine Titan on the floor of the Atlantic, about 500 meters away from the bow of the wreck of the Titanic.

Debris is “consistent with a catastrophic loss of pressure chamber”explained.

“Following this verification, we immediately notified the families on behalf of the United States Coast Guard and the entire unified command. I express my deepest condolences to the families.”

“The outpouring of support for this highly complex research undertaking has been strong and greatly appreciated. We are grateful for the rapid mobilization of underwater search and rescue experts, and thank all agencies and personnel for their role in the response. We are also incredibly grateful for the full range of international assistance that has been provided,” said the senior US Coast Guard official.

It will take time to establish a definite timeline of events in the “incredibly complex” case of the submarine’s catastrophic collapse, Mautzer told reporters.

It is too early to know when the “catastrophic internal collapse” occurred, the vice admiral clarified.

He said the remotely operated vehicles probing the seabed are “very capable” and will reveal more information. The vice admiral estimated that in the near future the coast guard will have more information about what happened to the submarine.

Ships and medical personnel will leave the search area in the next 24 hours

This is an extremely sad time for our dedicated employees who are exhausted and deeply grieve this loss. The entire OceanGate family is deeply grateful for the countless men and women from many organizations in the international community who have stepped up a wide range of resources and worked so hard on this mission.

We appreciate their commitment to finding these five explorers and their days and nights of tireless work in support of our crew and their families.

This is a very sad time for the entire explorer community and for each of the family members of those lost at sea.
