Germany plans to buy 60 Chinook helicopters from Boeing in a package worth up to 8 billion euros, including the necessary infrastructure for the aircraft, a parliamentary source told Reuters today.
The total amount includes the procurement of CH-147 Chinook helicopters for 6.27 billion euros, 700 million euros for maintenance, 240 million euros for national contracts and 750 million euros for infrastructure, the source said, confirming reports from other media.

Germany announced its intention to buy 60 heavy-duty Chinook helicopters from Boeing last year to replace its aging fleet of CH-53 helicopters.
The initial budget was 6 billion euros for the helicopters.
