The Hajj started 2 days ago, the annual Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, which is considered the largest annual gathering of people in the world.
According to Islam, the pilgrimage to Mecca is considered an obligatory religious duty that every Muslim must perform at least once in his life – except those who are physically and financially incapable, or unable to support their families in their absence.
It is estimated that so far over 1.6 million Muslim pilgrims – men and women – have arrived from around the world in Saudi Arabia for the Hajj.

The pilgrimage lasts 7 days and starts in Mecca where worshipers make 7 rounds around the Kaaba – the “House of God”, the black cube covered in black silk with gold decoration and silver arabesques – in a counter-clockwise direction , constantly exclaiming that Allah is Great!, “Allah Akbar!”.
