The joint commitment of the US and Greece to continue close cooperation across the spectrum of shared priorities, including maintaining stability in the Aegean, was underlined during the telephone conversation that US President Joe Biden had with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

The US President congratulated the Prime Minister on his re-election and emphasized that he looks forward to even closer cooperation with the new Greek government.

As noted in the White House announcement, “President Joe Biden spoke today with the Prime Minister of Greece, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, to congratulate him on his re-election. The leaders underlined the close relations between our countries, including our strong defense cooperation as NATO allies, efforts to deepen our economic ties and the enduring ties between our civil society. They pledged to continue close cooperation between our governments across the spectrum of shared priorities, including maintaining stability in the Aegean.”
