Tarikjot Singh, 22, pleads guilty to murdering girlfriend Jasmeen Kaurwhose body was found in a shallow grave with the her hands and feet tied with cables.

Singh, the whose motive for the heinous crime was revenge, bound with duct tape and wires before burying his ex-partner alive because she rejected himaccording to a court.

In her sentencing proposal, in the High Court of South Australia on Wednesday, prosecutor Carman Matteo SC says Singh killed 21-year-old nursing student Jasmeen Kaur, as an act of revenge after she rejected him. He said he had planned the killing before abducting her from her workplace in March 2021.

Kaur’s body was found buried in a shallow grave in Moralana Creek. She was found with her hands tied behind her back with cable and her legs taped and tied together. He had also inhaled and swallowed soil, the court was told.

The judge imposed mandatory life imprisonmentwith a non-suspension period to be set next month.
