Panic broke out on a Ryanair flight from Zadar, Croatia, to Britain when a passenger from the UK got up from his seat as the plane was about to take off and insisted the flight attendant open the door for him to get off.

The video, recorded by a passenger on the plane, shows the 27-year-old furious and demanding that the door be opened for him. He takes off his sunglasses and tells the staff to unlock the door. Before proceeding to the door, he makes a strange gesture to the other passengers. The Brit can be heard shouting “Open the door”.

Two other passengers then intervene and immobilize the enraged man by throwing him to the ground. At the same time, the rest of the passengers have gotten up from their seats and are fearfully watching the incident.

The aircraft stopped the take-off process and the man was arrested by the airport authorities, however resisting.

According to the airline’s spokesperson, “this aircraft bound for Zadar to Stansted Airport (June 30) returned to its position after a passenger caused a disturbance as we were preparing to take off. Local law enforcement assisted in removing the passenger from the plane and the flight eventually arrived in London without incident.”
