The match:

From the very beginning of the match, all those who expected one were confirmed tough, demanding and difficult match, between two excellent tennis players. THE Stefanos Tsitsipas started very strongly on his own serve, holding and winning the games he served with relative ease. His effortless errors on his serve though Andy Murray, they gave the Brit an opportunity to “answer” in each of his games, with the two tennis players going hand to hand (6-6 games). Somehow, the two ended up in a tie-break, with the Greek tennis player winning by 7-3, doing the 1-0 set with 7-6!

With both athletes holding their serve in the first four games (2-2) the second set. Murray comfortably won the fifth game for 3-2, while a little later he almost broke, but Stefanos managed to hold his serve with great difficulty for the 3-3. From then on, aided by their good serve, neither allowed their opponent to threaten a break, as a result of which this set was also led to bye break. There, the 36-year-old Briton with two mini breaks for 2-1 and 4-1, he easily went on to win the set 7-2, bringing the match is even (1-1)!

Andy Murray-Stefanos Tsitsipas 2-3 sets

The way the second set was decided, it showed how… broke for a while it mind and the gathering of Tsitsipas. Such is Murray’s experience and quality, with the Brit not letting this opportunity go to waste, doing so break with… good morning (1-0 game) and even with a love game! It is noteworthy that this was the first “break” of sevris after 26 games and 2 hours of competition in the match!

The world No.5 came within a breath of the “answer” in the fourth game, however, wasted two break points enabling Murray to eventually make it 3-1. Despite the pressure exerted by the 24-year-old Greek in the rest of the set, the Scot managed the game excellently and with a “weapon” of his composure, took the lead again with 2-1 sets (6-4 games).

The fourth set was played this afternoon – the match was called off last night due to the late hour – without however much change in the match. And that’s because both didn’t allow their opponent to threaten a break, going hand-in-hand and point-by-point until 6-6 and third tiebreak in four sets!

There, Stefanos was delightful and thanks to two mini breaks took 6 of the last 7 points for 7-3, draw in 2-2 (7-6) and sent the match in fifth and final set!

With his psyche high and the momentum swinging in his favor, Stefanos entered the fifth set strongly. His labors… paid off in the third game, when with some terrific hits and winners, he made the break – only the second in the entire match (!) – for 2-1! As the set went on and Stefanos held his serve, they entered the match equation and murray nerves, which gave the Greek tennis player some easy points, thus reaching the set and victory more comfortably than it looks the 6-4 game.
