“We are returning home from Turkey and bringing back our heroes. The Ukrainian fighters Denis Prokopenko, Svyatoslav Palamar, Serhiy Volinsky, Oleh Khomenko, Denis Slegka will finally be with their loved ones”
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelesny announced in a post on his Telegram channel that he is returning from Turkey together with the soldiers who defended “Azovstal”, who as prisoners of the Russians, after their release according to an agreement, would remain in Turkey.
According to the terms of the agreement, which was brokered by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, five Ukrainian commanders were to remain in Turkey until the end of the war “in conditions of complete security and comfortable living conditions.”
However, President Zelensky apparently convinced his Turkish counterpart to let them return home, writes the BBC’s Russian service.
“We are returning home from Turkey and bringing back our heroes. The Ukrainian fighters Denis Prokopenko, Svyatoslav Palamar, Serhiy Volinsky, Oleh Khomenko, Denis Slegka will finally be with their loved ones”
