Texas continues to record record temperatures for the season
The heat wave which is expected to hit from today Monday California, Arizona and Nevada will intensify during the week while the Texas still recording record temperatures for the season.
The Los Angeles Weather Service warned that a prolonged heat wave will hit southern California and last through the weekend. Temperatures topping 37°C are expected in an area that includes San Diego and stretches as far as Las Vegas in Nevada and Phoenix in Arizona.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) “hazardous conditions” are likely to be created for residents who do not have access to air-conditioned spaces.
In Texas, high temperatures persist. El Paso, on the border with Mexico, broke the record for consecutive days with a temperature above 37.7°C, after Sunday, for the 24th day, such a temperature was recorded, as announced by the local meteorological service.
A heat wave warning has also been issued for south Florida, in the Miami area.
