Carlson first played a character named Zarf in August 2006, before returning to the show in November when his character was revealed to be a transgender woman named Zoe.
Jeffrey Carlson starred as Zarf on ‘All My Children’ in 2006. Zarf was a British rock star who had undergone gender reassignment, which was revealed that year just before the show returned to screens in November, making him the first character trans woman on tv.
It has also been reported that, his mother was a big fan of ‘All My Children’ and named it after the fictional character Jeff Martin.
As news of Carlson’s death broke, his fans and loved ones were shocked and took to social media to share their thoughts.
On Monday, the Chicago Police Department told Fox News Digital that “police arrived at the scene just before 12 noon on July 6th where his body was found. His last point of contact was on July 3.”
“A 48-year-old man was found unconscious at the above address. The victim took his prescription medication along with alcohol.”
Carlson was born on June 23, 1975 in Long Beach, California and studied acting at the University of California – Davis, graduating in 1997 before attending the prestigious Julliard School.
He was a member of the Julliard Drama Division’s “Group 30” from to 2001 before embarking on a career as a professional actor and made his Broadway debut in 2002 when he appeared in Edward Albee’s The Goat or Who Is Sylvia, later starring in the revival of Tartuffe again on Broadway in 2003.
He would later star in ‘The Miracle Worker’ alongside Oscar winner Hilary Swank and the films Happy End, Hitch, Backseat and The Killing Floor.
Carlson was also known for his role as an 80s British pop star named Marilyn in the series “Taboo”, from 2003-2004.
News of the actor’s death also led to a number of tributes from social media, including one from author Mark Harris.
