Strong upward trends prevailed in today’s meeting theof the Stock Exchangewith the market sharply breaking above the 1,300 levels, closing at new 9-year highs, the highest levels since early June 2014.

The rise in share prices was also accompanied by increased turnover, while bank shares and the securities of Mytileneos and Motor Oil outperformed due to the high capitalization.

The General Price Index closed on 1,317.35 points, up 2.05%.

It is the highest close since the June 10, 2014 session (1,322.90 points).

Since the beginning of the year, the main stock market index has recorded high gains of 41.68%.

The value of transactions amounted to 144.96 million euros, while 32,779,086 shares were traded.

The large-cap index gained 2.45%, while the mid-cap index gained 2.27%.

Of the high capitalization shares, the biggest increase was recorded by the shares of Mytilinaios (+4.185), Piraeus (+4.16%), Ethniki (+4.10%), Motor Oil (+3.60%) , Eurobank (+3.44%) and Alpha Bank (+3.27%).

On the contrary, the biggest fall was recorded by the shares of EYDAP (-0.72%), Coca Cola HBC (-0.61%) and Elvalhalcor (-0.47%).

Of the individual indices, the largest increase was recorded by the indices of Trade (+3.83%), Industrial Products (+3.71%) and Banks (+3.70%), while only the index of Food (-0.51%)

The largest volume of transactions was presented by Alpha Bank and Eurobank, trading 8,903,423 and 5,561,419 shares, respectively.

Mytileneos with 21.04 million euros and Piraeus with 17.33 million euros recorded the highest value of transactions.

85 stocks moved up, 33 fell and 12 remained stable.

The biggest increase was recorded by the shares: Lanakam (k) +12.62% and Interlife +8.24%.

The biggest drop was registered by the shares: Bitros -9.62% and Tria ‘Alfa (k) -7.45%.
