NATO allies have expressed “serious concern” over Iran’s “malign activities” on allied territory, urging the country to stop supplying drones to Russia for use in the war in Ukraine.

In a joint communique issued Tuesday during a meeting in Lithuania, the NATO allies stressed that “Iran’s support for Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine” affects Euro-Atlantic security.

“We call on Iran to end its military support to Russia, particularly the transportation of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) that have been used to attack critical infrastructure, causing widespread civilian casualties,” NATO allies said.

“We express our grave concern about Iran’s malign activities within allied territories,” is added to the announcement.

The allies also repeated the “clear determination” them that Iran will never develop a nuclear weapon, calling on the country to “fulfil its legal obligations under the safeguards agreement required by the Non-Proliferation Treaty.”
