“None of the targets, neither in the city nor in the sea area, were damaged,” explains Mikhail Razvozaev in his post on Telegram.
Russian air defenses and the Russian Black Sea Fleet intercepted eight Ukrainian drones over the Crimean port of Sevastopol early this morning, the city’s Moscow-appointed governor said.
“None of the targets, neither in the city nor in the sea area, were damaged,” explains Mikhail Razvozaev in his post on Telegram.
One drone was shot down over the sea, five were intercepted by Russian air defense forces and two surface-to-air drones were destroyed off the coast, he added.
These attacks took place over the port of Sevastopol and two areas of the city, he said earlier.
So far, Kiev has not commented on the Russian announcement of an attack on the Crimean peninsula, which Russia annexed from Ukraine in 2014.
Ukraine almost never publicly claims responsibility for attacks inside Russia or on Russian-controlled territory in Ukraine, but in recent months it has said that Russia’s destruction of military infrastructure is helping Kiev’s counterattack.
