Brigitte Bardot suffered breathing problems and emergency services were called for help and rushed to her home on Wednesday, as reported by the Daily Mail.

The husband of the French actress, Bernard d’Ormale, confirmed the news and described what happened shortly after the incident that occurred at their residence in Saint Tropez. “It was around 9am. when Brigitte started to have trouble breathing,” he said and continued: “her breathing was stronger than usual, but she did not lose consciousness. Let’s say it was a respiratory crisis.”

Bernard confirmed that once paramedics arrived, they put oxygen on Bardot, 88, “and stayed for a while to watch her.” He said: “like all people of a certain age, they can’t take the heat anymore. It happens at the age of 88. He must not make useless efforts.’

Bardot starred in 47 films before leaving the film industry in 1973. Born and raised in Paris, she was an aspiring ballerina before working as a model and actress.
