Elon Musk’s father attributes the reports to an attempt by the US government to hinder the business interests of the wealthy businessman
Response to The New Yorker report that Elon Musk is taking drugs to cope with his stressful life and mental health issuesthe father of Tesla’s CEO wanted to give, the Daily Mail reports.
The retired South African politician Errol Musk, 77 years oldsaid that the publication is characterized by “blatant inaccuracies”.
Specifically, the publication attributed Elon’s “erratic behavior” to his “efforts to self-medicate” due to the “relentless stress” he was experiencing in his life.
Errol Musk even claimed that his son went on Joe Rogan’s podcast and smoked weed because he didn’t want to appear “prudent.”

Asked about the article, Errol told The US Sun that “it’s very disturbing that this is blatantly inaccurate. 99.9 percent of those who view Elon in light of this article will condemn him as a danger to society.”
He explained that “The speculation that Elon has mental health issues and may be self-medicating with Ambien and Ketamine is an attempt by of the US government in order to hinder the business interests of the wealthy businessman».
In addition to calling the report “nonsense from top to bottom,” Musk’s father said of his son’s use of marijuana during his Joe Rogan appearance that he “took a puff of weed, with experts saying he didn’t down the smoke and Elon to cough until the end of the show.”
Much of the New Yorker article, titled Elon Musk’s Shadow Rule, was based on allegations by his friends and associates.
The report said that “associates say that Musk’s drug use has escalated in recent years and that the drugs, along with his isolation and increasingly strained relationship with the press, may contribute to his tendency to make chaotic and impulsive statements’.
In 2017, Musk hinted that he uses Ambien with alcohol to treat sleep disorders: “A little red wine, a vintage record, a little Ambien … and magic!”
