Former Prime Minister of Finland, Sanna Marin, who narrowly lost last April’s election and resigned as the leader of her party last week, plans to leave parliament and work at the Institute for Global Change, the Tony Blair’s think tank.

Due to her new position, Sanna Marin is asking for parliament’s permission to leave her parliamentary seat, the Social Democratic Party of Finland announced.

She told reporters that her new position at the former UK prime minister’s think tank “will benefit the whole of Finland”.

He has not ruled out taking part in future elections or seeking a seat in European institutions, but for now he has no such plans.

When she became prime minister in 2019, Sanna Marin was the youngest prime minister in the world, attracted global attention and helped project Finland’s image in these turbulent times.

After dealing with the Covid epidemic and economic turmoil, Sana Marin emerged as one of Ukraine’s biggest supporters after the Russian invasion and led her country’s journey from neutrality to the Atlantic Alliance.
