With the gaze fixed on biblical disaster that the bad weather Daniel leaves in its deadly wake remain the foreign news networks.

Journalists sent to the affected areas of Central Greece focus on the volumes of water that submerged towns and villages, the ongoing battle to rescue flood victims while, they speak of an unprecedented deluge, describing the rain as “relentless” since, as they emphasize, it never stops.

As they report, the situation in Greece is dramatic with images of chaos, despair and destruction succeeding one another. Their correspondents describe how the roads were cut in two, how villages, settlements and towns were cut off from each other, how whole areas were turned into a lagoon with only the roofs of the houses and the tips of the treetops betraying that under the tons of water and houses and businesses were – a few days ago – covered in mud.

For foreign news networks, this summer for our country was nothing less than cursed as from the continuous reports that transmit them, neither the references to the extreme heat wave that lasted for almost a month are absent nor the references to the devastating forest fires that until a few days ago swept the country and reduced huge areas of land to ashes, sending dozens to their deaths people.

At the same time, describing the unprecedented intensity of extreme weather phenomena, they explain how arid land, after a period of prolonged drought, cannot absorb water volumes – record in recent days. From their reports, the efforts of the rescue crews to free the flood victims are also not absent, while the first reason is the citizens who call for help complaining about the lack of coordination and preparation of the authorities.

Impassable roads, blocked villages, residents in despair without electricity, without a single drop of drinking water, repeat in every report the international news media mcounting, at the same time, dead, missing and millimeters of rain per square meter being impossible – and they in turn – to realize the new natural disaster of biblical proportions that is affecting the country.
