The price of oil soared
And Italy is trying to deal with the big problem of punctuality and constant price increase. The aim is to be able to save Italian households around four billion euros. From the beginning of October until the end of the year in Italy’s largest supermarkets, the prices of main products, widely consumed, are to be reduced.
According to what has been known so far, a specific list of products will not be imposed by the government, but supermarkets, at their own choice, will place stickers with the Italian flag on food items and not only those that will be subject to the withholding of prices.
“This is a truly collective effort, to decisively hit inflation,” said Adolfo Urso, the minister in charge of supporting domestic production and promoting Made in Italy. The whole movement will be supported by the food production companies, which were initially negative, as well as by the Italian artisans,
However, consumer associations are not entirely satisfied. They emphasize that they were not asked to take part in the preparation of this initiative and ask for checks to be made to establish whether prices will actually be reduced.
The price of olive oil is soaring
Within the next twenty days, further details should be determined with detailed information to the buying public. The problem, however, is also particularly noticeable in Italy.
Suffice it to say that before the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, a liter of pure virgin olive oil in supermarkets cost from three euros and more. Now, it is almost impossible to find it, anyone, at a price lower than eight euros.
However, there are already some offers. In several supermarket chains, from eight to ten in the evening the price of products is always reduced by 10%, while every two weeks the “day of great offers” is organized, with a 20% discount, which applies to all products .
