An A320 aircraft of the Russian company Ouralskie Avialinii with 167 passengers on board, flying from Sochi to the city of Omsk, made an emergency landing in a Siberian meadow in the Novorossiysk region earlier today due to a failure in its hydraulic system.

There are no immediate reports of injuries.

The director of the airline company, during a press conference, attributed the emergency landing made by the aircraft to a failure of the hydraulic system.

Russia, which is the target of Western sanctions over its aggression in Ukraine, faces problems with maintenance and access to spare parts for Airbus and Boeing aircraft operated by Russian companies, raising fears about aviation security in the country.
